The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is taking advantage of the growing pressure to to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
